To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh city being honored with the name of President Ho Chi Minh , Ho Chi Minh City organized a series of special cultural and artistic activities. Among them, a fireworks display combined with a 3D mapping art performance in the city center attracted a large number of residents and tourists.
On the night of July 2nd, the roads leading to the central area of Ho Chi Minh City, such as Bach Dang Wharf, Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, Saigon riverside park, and the area in front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee headquarters, were packed with people. Many families brought folding chairs and spread out mats early to choose a good spot to wait and enjoy the program.
The 3D mapping art performance on the facade of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee headquarters also attracted a large number of locals and tourists.
The more than 100-year-old architectural structure has been transformed into an outdoor light show with modern visual effects combined with music , recreating historical milestones, the formation and development of Ho Chi Minh City, and many characteristic symbols of the city named after President Ho Chi Minh.
Thousands of locals and tourists captured memorable moments during the spectacular light show.
At exactly 9 PM, fireworks were simultaneously launched at 16 locations across Ho Chi Minh City, including 5 locations with a combination of high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks and 11 locations with low-altitude fireworks. For about 15 minutes, the city sky lit up with clusters of colorful fireworks, creating a dazzling and emotional scene.
At the Bach Dang Wharf area, thousands of people watched the performance intently. Each time the fireworks burst into the sky, cheers and applause erupted continuously. Many people took the opportunity to capture the impressive moments with their phones to preserve memories of this special night for the city.
Ms. Nguyen Thien Thu (37 years old, residing in Tan Dinh ward) shared that her family arrived at over 7 PM to secure a spot. "This is a very meaningful occasion as the city celebrates the 50th anniversary of being named after President Ho Chi Minh. My children are very excited and thrilled to see fireworks in the city center for the first time," she said.
Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung (from Dong Nai City) said that he had watched fireworks in Ho Chi Minh City many times before, but this year left a particularly strong impression thanks to the combination of fireworks display and 3D mapping art. "The atmosphere was very lively, everyone was excited, and this was truly a memorable night," he shared.
