Mbappe is the highest-paid player in the French national team.
According to data from Capology, the Real Madrid striker is the highest-paid player among the 26 players called up by coach Didier Deschamps for the 2026 World Cup. Mbappe receives a basic salary of £1.192 million per week, equivalent to approximately £62 million per year. This figure puts the 27-year-old star far ahead of all his teammates in the French national team.
Not only is Mbappe outstanding on the pitch, but he also possesses a substantial fortune. The striker is reportedly living in a villa worth around £9 million in the suburbs of Madrid, formerly owned by Gareth Bale. The villa boasts 8 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a private cinema, a large swimming pool, and a garage large enough for 6 luxury cars.
Right behind Mbappe is Ousmane Dembele. The current Ballon d'Or winner continues to maintain his status as a top star in French football with a salary of approximately £453,741 per week. In total annual income, Dembele earns over £23.5 million, although still far less than his teammate Mbappe.
Third place goes to Theo Hernandez with a salary of £390,514 per week. The left-back moved to Saudi Arabia and quickly joined the ranks of the highest-paid players in the French national team. Theo's annual income now exceeds £20 million. Meanwhile, his older brother Lucas Hernandez, currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain, is also among the highest-paid players.
Fourth on the list is Barcelona's Jules Kounde, with a salary of approximately £325,290 per week. This versatile center-back remains one of the highest-paid players at the Catalan club, despite the financial difficulties Barcelona has faced in recent years.
William Saliba has become the highest-paid Premier League player in the French national team with a salary of £287,500 per week. After signing a new contract with Arsenal, the 2001-born center-back joined the group of highest-paid defenders in Europe.
Right behind Saliba is Michael Olise, a player who has made significant progress since moving to Bayern Munich. The winger earns £281,030 per week.
Aurelien Tchouameni is the next name on the list of players earning over £260,065 per week. The Real Madrid midfielder is still being monitored by many European giants and could significantly increase his contract value if a major transfer is made in the future.
Two young talents, Warren Zaire-Emery (£241,928/week) and Rayan Cherki (£225,000/week), also feature in the Top 10 highest-paid players of the French national team. This is considered a well-deserved reward for the remarkable development of this duo in recent seasons.
Dayot Upamecano is the last player on the list to reach a base salary of around £200,000 per week. The Bayern Munich center-back recently extended his contract and continues to play a crucial role in the French national team's defense.
Besides the names mentioned above, Adrien Rabiot, Ibrahima Konate, Lucas Digne, Bradley Barcola, Desire Doue, Mike Maignan, Marcus Thuram, and N'Golo Kante are all among the players who receive salaries ranging from £100,000 to £200,000 per week.
Notably, goalkeeper Brice Samba was the last player in the French national team to reach the £100,000-a-week mark. Meanwhile, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Manu Kone, Maghnes Akliouche, and Maxence Lacroix also command substantial salaries thanks to their impressive performances at club level.
At the bottom of the ranking are Chelsea defender Malo Gusto and young goalkeeper Robin Risser. Risser, who is being monitored by several big clubs, only earns around £12,000 a week. This is the lowest salary in the French national team squad for the 2026 World Cup.
