Philosophy contributes to elevating the level of innovation in general education.
On November 1st, the Vietnam Philosophical Society and the Department of Philosophy, Hanoi University of Education, jointly organized a scientific conference on the Practical Application of the 2018 General Education Program, with the theme "Philosophical Values and Knowledge in General Education in Vietnam Today".
The workshop focused on exchanging scientific and practical foundations, aiming to propose the systematic integration of philosophical values and knowledge into the general education curriculum, in accordance with the cognitive characteristics and developmental stages of students. This will contribute to fostering a scientific worldview , thinking methods, and critical thinking skills in the younger generation.
Professor Pham Van Duc, President of the Vietnam Philosophical Society, believes that philosophy and education have a long-standing relationship in the history of thought. However, integrating philosophical values and knowledge into current general education still presents many issues that need to be researched and clarified, from its role and content to its scope and appropriate approach.
