The new 2026 Suzuki Across has been unveiled, but it's almost identical to its "compatriot" Toyota RAV4 Adventure, also known as the Woodland Edition in the US market.
Suzuki has just introduced a new competitor to the Toyota RAV4 in the European market, and this model can confidently claim to be just as good as the original. The reason is simple: the new generation Suzuki Across is essentially a rebranded Toyota RAV4 PHEV. This model demonstrates the continuation of the partnership between Suzuki and Toyota.
In its previous generation, the 2026 Suzuki Across only differed slightly from the Toyota RAV4 in the front end. Meanwhile, the new generation is almost identical to the Toyota RAV4 Adventure, also known as the Woodland Edition in the US market. This means the 2026 Across does not have Core or GR Sport versions like the Toyota RAV4.
Instead, Suzuki opted for an off-road-oriented design package for its C-segment SUV. In fact, the square grille of the Toyota RAV4 Adventure was almost the only way to attach the Suzuki logo without too much modification.
Due to the high level of component sharing, all accessories designed for the Toyota RAV4 will also be compatible with the new Suzuki Across. This 4,600 mm long SUV uses 18-inch wheels painted in a dark gray. The exterior color palette is limited to four options: Massive Gray, Ever Rest Blue, Super White, and Attitude Black.
The interior is carried over from the Toyota RAV4, with the only difference being the Suzuki logo on the steering wheel. Suzuki's features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display (HUD), a 12.9-inch central touchscreen, wireless charging, five USB Type-C ports, and a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Like its predecessor, the 2026 Suzuki Across SUV is only available with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) engine option. It does not have a self-charging hybrid (HEV) version like its "twin" Toyota RAV4.
The 2026 Suzuki Across's powertrain consists of a 2.5L four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with two electric motors, delivering a total output of 300 horsepower. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via an E-CVT automatic transmission and E-Four all-wheel drive system. The vehicle features Normal, Eco, Sport, and E-Four Trail driving modes.
Suzuki has not yet announced the WLTP (Wide Range) standard for this model. Meanwhile, the European version of the Toyota RAV4 PHEV can travel up to 100 km on electric power alone thanks to its 22.7 kWh battery. Notably, the Across accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, slightly slower than the Toyota RAV4 PHEV's 5.8 seconds.
The new Suzuki Across has just been launched in the Netherlands and is expected to be available in more European markets this year. Pricing will be announced later. Besides its sibling, the Toyota RAV4, the Suzuki Across competes with the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, Mitsubishi Outlander, Nissan X-Trail, Peugeot 5008, Skoda Kodiaq, and Volkswagen Tayron.
Notably, Suzuki recently introduced a completely different Across model at Seychelles. This version is essentially a rebranded Suzuki Victoris, significantly smaller than the RAV4-based Across currently sold in Europe.
