On October 20th, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province confirmed that it had authorized Hon La Port Joint Stock Company to dump 200,000 cubic meters of dredged material into the sea to serve the upgrading of the Hon La maritime channel.
Along with handing over the sea area to businesses, the province stipulates the responsibility for inspection and supervision, and if any signs of environmental safety violations are detected, the business will be ordered to cease operations.
