This habit is not only changing how individuals spend their money but is also encouraging businesses and financial institutions to adapt to the cashless transaction trend.
Digital payments are becoming increasingly popular.
On October 24th and 25th, the Sóng Festival 2026 event, part of Vietnam's Digital Payment Day, took place on Tran Nhan Tong pedestrian street, offering a space to experience modern payment methods such as card swiping, QR code scanning, and one-touch payment. Here, people had the opportunity to access digital financial services through shopping and hands-on experiences.
Journalist Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper and co-chairman of the event's organizing committee, said that changes in people's payment habits are happening faster than expected.
