In response to the National Digital Transformation Day on October 10, 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced the initial results from exploiting data from nationwide health check-ups, contributing to the identification of disease patterns, risk stratification, and the orientation of appropriate healthcare solutions.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, as of 4:00 AM on October 10th, the nationwide health check-up program had recorded over 6 million visits, with more than 5.37 million people having electronic health records.

Identifying diseases by age group

Medical examination data revealed different prominent health problems across age groups.

In the age group of 6 to under 18 years old, out of 388,793 recorded cases, refractive errors accounted for 48%, and dental caries accounted for 34.6%. The results suggest a need to enhance vision screening, oral care, and prevention in schools.

In the age group of 18 to under 60, out of 1.46 million recorded cases, hypertension accounted for 6.7%, type 2 diabetes for 1.6%, and dyslipidemia for 1.6%. These are issues that need to be prioritized for early detection, counseling, and management starting from working age.
