According to British media, HercLeon (a company that gained attention with its self-cleaning underwear line launched a few years ago) has recently continued to attract interest by introducing the fifth generation of its HercShirt. The company claims the product can maintain its odor-free state for over a month, even when worn daily without washing.
This claim has raised considerable skepticism, especially in the summer months when the body sweats profusely in high temperatures. However, HercLeon asserts that the technology used in HercShirt V5.0 is capable of delivering the results it claims.
To maintain its long-lasting odor-eliminating capabilities, HercLeon states that the HercShirt V5.0 is made from a fabric incorporating seven special components: copper, silver, zinc, gold, volcanic ash, and two undisclosed ingredients. According to the company, these materials are woven directly into the fabric fibers rather than simply coating the surface, ensuring the effectiveness is maintained throughout its lifespan.
Among these, copper inhibits odor-causing bacteria, zinc neutralizes sulfur-containing compounds produced when the body sweats excessively, and volcanic ash absorbs moisture and odors from the environment, acting as a porous material within the fabric structure.
According to information posted on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, the HercShirt V5.0 can maintain its odor-free state for over a month even with heavy use. Because it doesn't require frequent washing, the product's lifespan is also said to be significantly longer than that of regular t-shirts.
HercShirt V5.0 is being offered for sale at $79. HercLeon claims that although the price is much higher than many similar products on the market, the shirt's lifespan is equivalent to more than seven regular t-shirts, thus offsetting the cost over time.
According to the plan, HercShirt V5.0 will begin shipping in early November. Initially, the product will only be available in black, before adding navy blue, burgundy red, and dark green.
In addition to the premium version, HercLeon also introduced a $39 shirt, advertised as being able to maintain odor-free status for about three days of continuous, high-intensity use. Furthermore, the company offers a standard version with a maximum lifespan of 14 days before needing to be washed.
