These are seemingly small tasks, but they go on endlessly: remembering the child's vaccination schedule, buying the last carton of formula, calling both sets of grandparents, cleaning the house, taking care of family members' emotions... Some women work all day just as hard as their husbands, but when they get home, they enter a "second shift"...
Silent pressure within the family.
Ngoc Lan, an office worker in Hanoi , once burst into tears simply because her husband asked her, "Why are you so irritable?"
She recounted that her day begins at 5 a.m. preparing breakfast for the whole family, taking her children to school, and then going to work. In the evening, she continues cooking dinner, helping her children with their homework, and cleaning up. Meanwhile, her husband believes that her job and earning money is her greatest responsibility. What makes her even more exhausted is the feeling that all her efforts are taken for granted.
