In addition to the Single Cab Chassis version, Ford has also introduced the Ranger Super Duty Double Cab 4-door to its product lineup in the region. This version has a list price of 1.599 million baht, equivalent to approximately 1.23 billion VND. Both variants are manufactured at the AutoAlliance Thailand (AAT) plant in Rayong province, Thailand . The pickup truck is aimed at customers who need a specialized vehicle for transporting goods and working in harsh terrain conditions.

At the heart of the Ford Ranger Super Duty Single Cab Chassis is a 3.0L turbocharged V6 diesel engine. This engine produces a maximum power of 210 horsepower at 3,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 600 Nm at 1,750 rpm. Power is transmitted through a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission combined with a 4A-4WD all-wheel drive system. The vehicle also supports 4H and 4L four-wheel drive modes, meets Euro 6 emission standards, and can use B20 biofuel.

Its adaptability to various terrains is enhanced by seven different driving modes. This list includes Normal, ECO, Tow-Haul, Slippery, Mud-Ruts, Sand, and Rock Crawl. The Ranger Super Duty also boasts a 130-liter fuel tank, significantly larger than the 80 liters of the standard Ranger. According to Ford, the vehicle can travel a minimum of approximately 1,000 km on a single tank of fuel, even with frequent use of the four-wheel drive system.

One of the most notable changes lies beneath the vehicle's body, as the Ranger Super Duty is developed on a unique chassis platform. Ford didn't simply reuse the standard Ranger's frame but designed a new structure to accommodate higher towing and hauling capabilities. This chassis is larger, thicker, and weighs approximately 70-80 kg more. This design provides a more robust foundation for the specialized pickup truck when handling heavy loads.

The suspension system has also been tuned by Ford to suit the Ranger Super Duty's driving characteristics. At the front, it uses an independent Double Wishbone suspension system with coil springs and a stabilizer bar. Meanwhile, the rear axle is equipped with a four-leaf spring system with greater length and thickness to increase load-carrying capacity. The front and rear drive shafts have also been reinforced to meet the demands of heavy-duty operation.

Not only the chassis, but many details related to power transmission have also been significantly upgraded. The Ranger Super Duty is equipped with electronic differential locks for both the front and rear axles, helping the vehicle overcome difficult terrain. The number of shock absorber mounting points has also been increased from 3 to 4 positions to increase the rigidity of the suspension system. In addition, disc brakes on all four wheels have been upgraded to handle the vehicle's weight and the operational requirements when carrying heavy loads.

The Ranger Super Duty's payload specifications clearly indicate that this model was developed with a distinctly specialized purpose. The unladen weight ranges from approximately 2,512 to 2,675 kg depending on the configuration, while the maximum payload reaches 2,060 kg. The vehicle's GVM (Gross Gross Vehicle Weight) is up to 4,500 kg, significantly higher than the standard Ranger's 3,200-3,300 kg. The maximum towing capacity is 4,500 kg, and the gross vehicle weight (GCM) is 8,000 kg.

Designed for on-road driving, the Ranger Super Duty has a ground clearance of approximately 296-299 mm, depending on the published information. Its wading depth reaches a maximum of 850 mm, suitable for muddy or challenging terrain. The vehicle uses LT275/70 R18 off-road tires with 18-inch steel wheels. The front end features a steel bumper directly attached to the chassis and can integrate an electric winch with a towing capacity of 12,000 lb (approximately 5.4 tons).

Ford has also added underbody protection and reinforcement to critical mechanical components to increase durability when the vehicle operates on rocky and obstacle-filled terrain. 3.6 mm thick steel plates are strategically placed in areas such as the front of the vehicle, front axle, transmission, and drivetrain. This design helps minimize the risk of critical components being directly impacted during movement. As a result, the Ranger Super Duty has the necessary extra protection for demanding operational tasks.

Despite its focus on specialized work, the Ranger Super Duty's cabin is still quite well-equipped. The Single Cab model features cloth upholstery with 4-way manually adjustable front seats, an e-Shifter electronic shifter, and an electronic parking brake with Auto Brake Hold. Dual-zone automatic climate control is also standard equipment. An 8-inch digital instrument panel is positioned in front of the driver, while the central infotainment screen measures 12 inches.

The car's infotainment system uses the SYNC 4 platform and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Users also have wireless phone charging and an Upfitter Switches system for connecting dedicated electrical devices. In terms of safety, the car has ABS, EBD, BA, electronic stability control, and traction control. Other driver assistance features include hill start assist, rollover risk monitoring, blind spot warning, automatic emergency braking, reverse brake assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Driver assistance capabilities are further expanded with adaptive cruise control (Stop&Go) and lane-keeping assist. For customers who frequently tow loads or drive off-road, Ford has added Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, and Pro-Trailer Backup Assist. Trail Control helps control speed when navigating challenging terrain, while Trail Turn Assist helps narrow the turning radius in certain situations. Notably, the On-Board Scale feature can display real-time load weight, allowing drivers to proactively monitor the amount of cargo on the vehicle.
