After years of association with Barcelona during its golden era, Pep Guardiola and Sergio Busquets are once again joining forces, but this time in the business world.
Guardiola and Busquets join forces for business.
According to Spanish media, both invested in ASAM, a real estate company specializing in affordable housing rentals within the Alquiler Seguro ecosystem. Each holds 14.21% of the shares, giving them a combined 28% ownership stake in the company (equivalent to approximately €2.6 million).
Guardiola is involved through his investment company 08022003 Limited, while Busquets is investing through his legal entity Buga Seler SL. This move shows that the former Spanish midfielder is quickly shaping his financial direction after officially retiring at the age of 37 late last year.
The transaction took place amidst ASAM's recent capital increase, issuing over 450,000 shares at €11.11 per share, raising its charter capital by approximately €4.9 million. Currently, the company's total capital stands at around €9.5 million, with nearly 1 million shares outstanding.
Besides Guardiola and Busquets, Ventu Europe also participated with a 17% stake. However, control remains with Alquiler Seguro, which holds 52.63% of the capital through its chairman Antonio Carroza and Aurica Growth fund.
Alquiler Seguro is one of Spain's leading rental companies, notable for its model of guaranteeing payments to landlords and controlling risk through a tenant scoring system.
The fact that two football icons are investing together shows a trend of former top players and coaches turning to real estate to increase their wealth. Previously, Sergio Ramos also invested millions of euros in housing development projects, confirming the attractiveness of this sector to professional athletes .
