Speaking at the 70th anniversary celebration of Hanoi University of Science and Technology on October 15th, Dr. Tran Viet Hung, founder of Got It, one of the few startups founded by Vietnamese people to succeed in Silicon Valley, shared his journey from an ordinary student to a technology entrepreneur in the US.

As a former student of the K42 Information Technology program, after graduating from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Dr. Tran Viet Hung worked in software development at the VietKey group for a few years before receiving a US government scholarship to pursue a PhD in artificial intelligence and big data.

To this day, he still remembers the thrill of calling Professor Nguyen Thuc Hai to share the good news of receiving the scholarship, the person who wrote the letter of recommendation that gave him the opportunity to go to America.

"I am grateful to my professor not only for the letter of recommendation but also for the faith he placed in a very ordinary student," Mr. Hung shared.
