TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Bayern Munich secured their place in the 2025/2026 Champions League semifinals after defeating Real Madrid 4-3 in the second leg of their quarterfinal at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Thursday morning WIB.

According to UEFA's website, Bayern secured their place in the quarterfinals thanks to a 6-4 aggregate victory over Real Madrid, whom they defeated 2-1 in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In the second leg, Bayern's four goals came from Aleksandar Pavlovic (6'), Harry Kane (38'), Luis Diaz (89'), and Michael Olise (90+4').

Meanwhile, Madrid secured their place thanks to two goals from Arda Guler (1', 29') and one from Kylian Mbappé (42').

The match was also marked by two red cards, both received by Madrid players: Eduardo Camavinga (86') and Arda Guler (90+5').

From the kick-off, both teams played an open game, exchanging attacks. Real Madrid even took a goal lead in the first minute, thanks to Arda Guler's effort, capitalizing on a mistake by veteran Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

However, just five minutes later, Bayern equalized to 1-1 through Pavlovic's header from Joshua Kimmich's corner.

In the 29th minute, Madrid regained the lead through Guler, who scored from a free kick.

Less than 10 minutes later, in the 38th minute, Bayern forced another equalizer after striker Harry Kane scored from defender Dayot Upamecano's pass.

However, in the 42nd minute, it was Kylian Mbappé's turn to silence the Allianz Arena crowd with his goal. Mbappé also set a record as the first player to score 10 away goals in a single Champions League campaign.

Madrid held a 3-2 lead until halftime.

In the second half, the intensity of both teams remained unabated. However, the pressure turned on Madrid in the 86th minute when Camavinga received a red card, the result of his second yellow card.

Seeing their opponents down to 10 men, Bayern Munich became even more aggressive. Vincent Kompany's penalty-taker squad added two more goals through Luis Diaz (89') and Michael Olise (90+4').

The tension remained high after the match ended. Protests erupted on the sidelines, resulting in Arda Guler, who had already been replaced by Franco Mastantuono, being sent off.
