TEMPO.CO, Bali - Following Tempo's previous feature on Bali's Hidden Gems to Escape the Crowds (link is provided at the end of this article), here are five more lesser-known sightseeing spots in the island of the gods relatively unknown to non-locals for a quieter holiday, listed from various sources.
1. Asah Hill
Bukit Asah offers spectacular views of the sea and coral cliffs. It is often used as a camping site by those eager to spend the night under the sky of Bali's East Sea. To reach the site, follow the winding road through Bugbug Village, Manggis District, Karangasem Regency.
2. Virgin Beach
Not far from Asah Hill is a pristine beach almost untouched by tourists. According to the Love Bali website lovebali.baliprov.go.id, Virgin Beach has several names. Foreign tourists usually call it Virgin Beach because the beach is far from the crowds and still natural. Meanwhile, local visitors call it White Sand Beach because only the beach around the town of Karangasem has white sand.
Virgin Beach offers a stunning panorama of cliffs jutting out into the sea, and the calm turquoise waters allow for a variety of water activities. In the afternoon, visitors can see fishing boats anchored along the shoreline with rows of towering coconut trees.
3. Pinggan Village
Pinggan Village in Kintamani is known as the village in the clouds. It is a perfect place to bask in the majestic views of Bali's natural mountain ranges. The highlands of this region are often used as campsites that offer stunning views of Pinggan Village and the mountain ranges. The best time to enjoy the panoramic view of this village is around 6 am during sunrise when a thin mist covers the lower part of the village area. Be sure to arrive early.
4. Tamblingan Lake
