The Los Angeles Dodgers placed All-Star starting pitcher Justin Wrobleski on the 15-day injured list with left forearm inflammation, the team announced on Sunday. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers recalled right-hander Kyle Hurt from Triple-A.

The Dodgers are playing a series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday at Dodger Stadium. The team will have a quick turnaround, as the Dodgers are scheduled to open a road series against the Colorado Rockies on Monday.

The Dodgers are also expecting to get starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow back before the end of August. He has one more rehab start in Triple-A on Wednesday then is expected to rejoin the Dodgers for their trips to Atlanta and Detroit.

Wrobleski Is Having a Breakout Season

After spending last season in Los Angeles’ bullpen, Wrobleski earned a spot in the Dodgers’ deep rotation during spring training. Since then, the southpaw has put together the strongest season of his career and was named an All-Star for the first time in his career this season.

Wrobleski’s career-best 3.56 ERA ranks 17th in the National League and second in the Dodgers’ rotation behind Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s 2.60 ERA. The 26-year-old also reached the 100-strikeout mark for the first time in his career in his most recent start on Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers.

If Wrobleski is able to return this season, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he will likely throw out of the bullpen during the postseason like he did during the team’s World Series title run last season.
