Celtics Should Trade Jaylen Brown After Controversial Live Stream

On Saturday, the Boston Celtics suffered their worst loss of the season, falling to the Philadelphia 76ers at home and being eliminated from the playoffs.

On Sunday, the team’s MVP of the season, Jaylen Brown, was on Twitch livestreaming, going over every little thing that happened during Game 7, eventually spiraling into complaints about the officials who called the game.

It was a night when Brown vented to his community, which was then clipped and aggregated across social media, where millions of people watched him complain about Philly star Joel Embiid as a “flopper” and how it was his favorite season as a Celtic, including the one where they actually won the championship.

It was a mess, as Brown spoke in sunglasses, with associates standing around him like bodyguards, also wearing sunglasses.

The Celtics, a team that runs a tight ship, need to make changes going into the summer, and Brown should be at the top of the list.

The franchise has gone as far as it can with Jayson Tatum and Brown, and one of the Jays has to go, and it shouldn’t be the former.

With the new CBA and how difficult it is for teams to juggle big-money contracts, Brown, who averages $57 million a year, is an appealing enough piece that can give Boston cap space and possibly bring back interesting assets for the future.

Brown is an All-Star. He was arguably one of the best five or seven players this year in the NBA.

But with Tatum already on the roster, along with the drama he brings, is it really worth investing your next half-decade into a tandem that is great but not elite?

When they won the title, it was easier to put the pieces around them together. Now, though, with them older, Tatum coming off a serious injury, and the next chapter needing to be written, is it time to make a move?

If the Celtics do trade Brown this summer, I’m sure we’ll hear his thoughts about it not too long after on Twitch.
