A golden retriever who appears to believe he’s a cat has taken the internet by storm, after a TikTok video showing him “making biscuits” racked up more than 17 million views.

The clip, posted by his owner @natalie.medrano, showed the golden retriever perched on the couch kneading a cushion with his paws—an instinctive feline behavior usually seen in cats, not dogs.

Text over the video read: “When your dog only has cat brothers so now he is a part of the biscuit‑making business.” In the caption, the owner wrote: “He’s truly convinced that he is a cat.”

The dog reportedly lives with several feline “brothers,” and—according to his owner—has absorbed their habits along the way.

Internet Reacts

The comment section quickly filled with viewers sharing their amusement and their own stories of cross‑species imitation. “This is so interesting for the dog to learn that behavior,” wrote TikTok user Crystal Goode, while retailer Anthropologie joked, “he’s just following directions.” Another viewer, ohhellnawnottodaybaby, added: “Dogs raised by cats and cats raised by dogs are my favorite.”

Others shared that their own pets had picked up unexpected habits from living with different species. “My dog was raised by cats and he also does this,” wrote user Sydney, adding that her dog also jumps on tables and counters “and other surfaces he should not be jumping on.” Jonah Hill68 chimed in with: “My husky does this and we have no cats.”

Another viewer joked that the dog was a “diversity hire” cat, while one joked that the pup must be “bilingual.”

In a more recent video, the dog’s owner shared a heartwarming video of the dog sitting with the two cats on the couch, all curled up together. In the caption, the owner said: “Our house is never quiet, but in the best way.”

The video is not the first example of dogs taking on cat-like habits. One dog went viral after showing off a “10/10 loaf” just like a cat. While another pup sparked hysterics for mimicking his feline housemates, particularly when choosing to sit on top of the TV console.

Another dog owner managed to capture the perfect proof that a shepherd dog believed he was a cat, perching on top of the couch with tennis ball in mouth.
