The New York Giants are hopeful that Malik Nabers can make a bigger impact this season than he did in 2025 when he suffered a season-ending ACL injury in Week 4.
Nabers missed OTAs and mandatory minicamp as he continued to rehab from the injury. It was unclear if the Giants planned to start the No. 6 pick in the 2024 draft on the PUP list to start training camp this summer.
Per the Giants, Nabers was not included on the list of players set to start training camp on the PUP list. New York placed tight end Thomas Fidone II, defensive linemen Sam Roberts and Roy Robertson-Harris on the PUP list.
It remains to be seen how the Giants plan to ramp up Nabers’ activity in training camp.
During an appearance on “The Domonique Foxworth Show” earlier in July, Giants head coach John Harbaugh said Nabers and running back Cam Skattebo, recovering from a season-ending ankle injury, were improving, but it wasn’t clear when they would be full participants at camp.
“They’re doing well,” Harbaugh said, via a transcription from Pro Football Talk. “They’re both rehabbing every day, working super hard. I would say they’re on schedule. People hear that, and they’re like, ‘Well, what does that mean?’ It’s like, well, ‘I don’t really know because nobody knows.
“They’re doing well, and they’re getting better every day. I feel like Skatt will be ready early on in camp, really quick. And then Malik will be working his way into practice as camp gets started one way or another. To what degree, we will find out. There’s a lot of optimism about both those two guys right now.”
The sooner Nabers gets back to practice, the better for the Giants. Nabers is the clear WR1 for New York, and he missed pivotal spring practices to gain chemistry with second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart and learn new offensive coordinator Matt Nagy’s scheme.
Nabers showed promise in his rookie season, recording 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games played in 2024.
