“Yellowstone” spinoff “Dutton Ranch” is officially returning for season 2.
On June 24, Paramount+ announced the renewal of the hit drama series, which stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, following its record-setting debut last month.
“Beth (Reilly) and Rip (Hauser) are among the most iconic duos in television history and we are thrilled to bring a whole new world to life with ‘Dutton Ranch’ for our subscribers around the world,” Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+, shared in a statement. “We’re also incredibly grateful to our partners, including the teams at Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, for bringing this new series to life with such grit, heart and authenticity.”
“‘Dutton Ranch’ has resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters, while establishing its own identity. Thank you to our partners at Paramount+ and 101 Studios for a phenomenal first season. We look forward to bringing fans more stories from these unforgettable characters in Season 2,” Matt Thunell, President of Paramount Television Studios, added.
The announcement comes after “Dutton Ranch” — which follows Beth and Rip as they face new challenges in South Texas, far from their life in Montana — had the biggest original series premiere in Paramount+ history, the streamer announced in a press release.
The two-episode premiere on May 15 drew 2.9 million viewers, marking the biggest series debut on cable since 2023.
The renewal was also announced on Instagram alongside a video teaser, captioned, “We’re just getting started. #DuttonRanch has been renewed for season 2!”
Fans took to the comments section to share their excitement. One fan wrote, “NEVER DOUBTED IT FOR A SECONDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.”
“Loving the first season can’t wait for the next 😍,” a commenter shared, with another adding, “Soo deserved! Awesome job by Cole and Kelly! 👏 Season 1 is outstanding already- can‘t wait for more 🙌”
As for what fans can expect from season 2, Reilly, 48, told “The Hollywood Reporter,” “I think we have some ideas about season two, with where we left season one.”
“We can’t talk about the ending, but we’re super excited about where it goes and so we already know sort of where the beginning is and that’s exciting,” she added.
New episodes of “Dutton Ranch” premiere Fridays on Paramount+, ahead of the season 1 finale on July 3.
