At the Manila International Auto Show, BYD Cars Philippines, under ACMobility, presented its most extensive lineup to date, highlighting a complete range of battery electric and hybrid vehicles alongside the infrastructure supporting them. The display reflects a clear direction: electrified mobility is no longer a future concept, but an increasingly practical option for Filipino drivers.

Expanding the EV and Hybrid Lineup

BYD’s presence spans multiple segments, from compact urban EVs to larger SUVs and MPVs. Models such as the BYD Seagull, BYD Atto 3, and BYD Tang EV represent its battery electric vehicle offerings, while its Super DM-i and DMO models bring hybrid and range-extended flexibility to the lineup.

Vehicles like the BYD Seal 5 DM-i, BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, and BYD Shark 6 DMO illustrate how the brand is blending electric efficiency with longer-range capability. Together, the lineup shows a strategy built on offering multiple entry points into electrified driving rather than a single solution.

New Models Previewed

Two upcoming models signal the next phase of BYD’s expansion. The BYD Atto 2 EV is positioned as a compact urban crossover designed for everyday practicality, combining manageable size with modern styling and usability.

At the other end of the spectrum is the BYD Sealion 7, a premium electric SUV that leans toward performance and advanced technology. With an all-wheel-drive system and a more aerodynamic design, it reflects BYD’s push into higher-performance EV segments while maintaining a tech-forward interior and driver-assist features.

Supporting the Shift to Electric

Alden Richards, an owner of the BYD Shark 6 DMO and BYD’s newest ambassador, learns more about the charging infrastructure by ACMobility.

Beyond the vehicles themselves, BYD’s approach focuses heavily on infrastructure. Through ACMobility, the brand highlights the Philippine EV Spine, a growing network of more than 160 charging locations nationwide.

This network is designed to address one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption: range anxiety. By expanding charging access across key routes and urban centers, BYD and ACMobility aim to make electric travel more viable for everyday use.

The company positions this ecosystem as a critical part of the ownership experience, ensuring that vehicles are supported by accessible charging, service, and digital platforms.

Proving Real-World Capability

To demonstrate the practicality of its electrified lineup, BYD also highlights a nationwide drive spanning from Northern Luzon to Mindanao. The journey, completed by a convoy of 20 electrified vehicles, served as a real-world test of both vehicle capability and charging infrastructure.

The drive covered 102 cities, earning two Guinness World Records for the most cities visited in a continuous journey by an EV and by a plug-in hybrid vehicle. It underscores how electrified mobility can function beyond controlled conditions and into everyday, long-distance use.

A Broader Electrified Ecosystem

BYD’s presence at MIAS reflects more than product expansion. It signals a broader push toward building a complete electrified mobility ecosystem, one that combines vehicles, infrastructure, and real-world usability.

With a lineup that now spans compact EVs, hybrid sedans, electrified SUVs, and range-extended pickups, the brand is positioning itself to meet a wide range of mobility needs. The addition of upcoming models like the Atto 2 and Sealion 7 further reinforces this direction.

For Filipino drivers, the message is clear: electrified mobility is no longer limited to early adopters. With the right mix of products and support systems, it is becoming an increasingly practical choice for everyday driving.
